IPL 2020: SRH skipper David Warner 1st batsman in IPL history to hit fifty 50+ score

Kings XI Punjab suffered another crushing defeat in the IPL on Thursday. The 22nd match of the thirteenth season of the Indian Premier League was played between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Kings XI Punjab on the Dubai ground where David Warner and Johnny Brijesh gave a great start for Sunrisers Hyderabad and shared a 160-run partnership for the first wicket.

During this period, Johnny Bairstow scored the offspring runs for Hyderabad and completed his fifth half-century in the IPL. However, he missed a century. The same Hyderabad captain David Warner also scored 52 runs, but with this he took a criminal call and became the first player in IPL history to do so. In his half-century innings, Warner hit five fours and a six. With this, David Warner became the first player in IPL history to score a half-century of 50 plus innings. Talking about the list of batsmen who have played 50 plus fifties innings in the history of IPL, then it comes after David Warner, Virat Kohli who has played 50 plus innings 42 times. On the other hand, Rohit Sharma Suresh Raina holds the third position in this list with 39 half-centuries.

Apart from this, David Warner has also reached the top of the list of batsmen who have scored the most fifties against any one team in the IPL. Warner has scored nine consecutive half-centuries against Punjab since 2015 and the list continues. The same David Warner had done seven half-centuries against RCB from 2014 to 16 and against CSK five times between 2014 and 2019.
